‘Priest’ who fooled Lodwar clergy exposed after failing prayer test during Mass [Courtesy]

Drama unfolded in Lodwar, Turkana County, after a man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a Catholic priest.

The suspect, identified as Jones Bogonko Onchogo, is reportedly a married man and father of two who allegedly convinced Catholic clergy that he was an ordained priest from Tanzania who had travelled to Kenya while on leave.

According to a report by Citizen TV, Onchogo was granted accommodation at the bishop's residence and allowed to minister at St Augustine Cathedral in Lodwar, where he allegedly presented himself to worshippers as a legitimate Catholic priest.

His identity, however, reportedly came under scrutiny after his conduct during Mass raised questions among clergy and congregants.
