A musical about the life of Dolly Parton is planned for next year on what would have been the late singer’s 81st birthday, and a U.S. museum dedicated to her stellar career is due to open later this year.
Previews for "Dolly: A True Original Musical" will be staged in New York before opening night on Broadway on Jan. 19.
A museum called "Dolly’s Life Of Many Colors," referencing her 1971 song and album "Coat Of Many Colors," is due to open in Nashville, Tennessee, later this year.
The death of the country superstar was announced by Parton’s family on Tuesday night following a "brief battle with cancer."
The autobiographical musical was the passion project of Parton’s final years.
