Chinese President Xi Jinping chairs the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tianjin, north China, September 1, 2025.
From August 30 to September 3, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2026 in Bishkek and pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt upon the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday.
At a regular press conference on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian introduced the main arrangements for Xi's upcoming visits and China's expectations for developing relations with Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.
Lin said that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbours connected by mountains and rivers, good friends who trust each other, and good partners sharing common aspirations.
Last year, President Xi met with President Japarov three times, guiding China-Kyrgyzstan cooperation into a "golden period" of rapid development, Lin said.
