Sabina Giannatou, Primavera en Salonico and Tunisian vocalist Lamia Bedioui will present “Watersong” at the Dora Stratou Theater on Philopappou Hill. Based on Giannatou and Primavera en Salonico’s fifth album for ECM, the concert explores water as a symbol of life, death, fertility, desire, purification and magic. Traditional and Renaissance songs from different countries evoke rain, seas, rivers, tears and the human body, blending cultural traditions with free improvisation. Giannatou and Bedioui will be accompanied by kanun, oud, ney, violin, accordion, percussion, waterphone, guitar and double bass, creating a rich musical dialogue between Mediterranean and desert traditions.
