Meta has agreed to a settlement of up to $18 billion with nearly 50 US states to address social media harm to teenagers, implementing new restrictions on Facebook and Instagram usage for users under 18.
Globally, governments are intensifying efforts to limit children's access to social media, with various countries, including Australia and Poland, proposing fines and regulations to combat online addiction and protect minors.
