Xiaomi has been one of the best EV stories of the past few years. Whereas Apple, Sony, Samsung, Google, and others have dropped the ball and given up on producing cool, compelling, high-tech electric vehicles, Xiaomi came onto the market like Usain Bolt leaves the blocks. It quickly had some of the top selling electric cars in the world.

Naturally, a big part of that was that it was a very well known Chinese tech company and China is by far the largest electric vehicle market in the world. Building on its massive brand, it launched a highly compelling electric car that soared to the top of the charts almost immediately. Buyers and reviewers loved the car, and then it launched another super popular model.

As we know, though, the Chinese EV (and broader auto) market has not been achieving record heights this year. Sales have dropped. In order to try to find continued sales growth, automakers have been turning to foreign markets and trying to build good reputations and strong sales channels in other major car markets. In that vein, Xiaomi just launched a global website and global social media accounts, as it prepares for launch in Europe next year.
