The Chief Medical Director and founder of Save a Life Mission Hospital in Port Harcourt, Dr Richard Okoye, has unveiled a digital healthcare application designed to improve access to quality medical services for Nigerians.
Okoye said the App would be a game changer for those living in rural and underserved communities.
He said Nigeria’s healthcare system has been in major crisis, citing reduced life expectancy and the worsening shortage of medical professionals due to persistent brain drain.
Presenting the gadgets called, ‘MyHomeClinic’ in Port Harcourt, Okoye said the country presently has an estimated ratio of one doctor attending to about 6,000 patients, a situation which required urgent intervention.
He explained that the application was created to address the challenge of inadequate access to doctors by connecting patients with healthcare professionals in the comfort of their homes.
