Members of Toronto’s Nepali-Canadian community have been unable to reach family members living in affected areas after flash floods tore through the Nepal-China border region Wednesday, killing at least 160 people and leaving hundreds missing as power and telecommunications infrastructure suffered severe damage.
Among the missing are 24 Canadians, while workers and tourists are stranded and travel across the region has been disrupted.
