Christian Petersen / Getty ImagesAug. 26, 2026 Updated 7:01 pm EDTDeWanna Bonner, a 17-year WNBA veteran, will sign with the Atlanta Dream for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs, according to sources familiar with the deal who spoke Wednesday on the condition of anonymity because they were not permitted to discuss it publicly.

Bonner agreed Monday to a buyout with the Phoenix Mercury pursue one last postseason run in her career. The Mercury were eliminated from playoff contention Saturday following a loss to the Dream. Bonner cleared waivers and is free to sign with the Dream as an unrestricted free agent.Bonner, 39, has averaged 13.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in her playoff career. She has missed the playoffs only once in her career and is set to make her 16th postseason appearance.This story will be updated.
