Some personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) deployed for the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election have raised concerns over the alleged delay in payment of their special duty allowance, promotion-related entitlements and other outstanding wages.
The personnel were deployed across the 30 local government areas of the state to provide security and support during the August 15 governorship electoral process.
However, as of August 25, 2026, some of the officers lamented that they were yet to receive the special duty allowance attached to their election assignment.
Several NSCDC personnel said they were deployed to locations far from their regular places of duty, requiring them to incur additional expenses on transportation, feeding and other operational needs while carrying out their assignments.
