In New York, the S&P 500 was 0.05 per cent lower at 2.25pm, with health care pacing modest losses in six of the 11 industry sectors.Nvidia was 1.1 per cent as its results were awaited after the closing at 4pm (6am AEST). “Given it’s the largest company in the market, Nvidia’s reaction to its results tends to be a short-term driver of the overall market,” according to Bespoke Investment Group.“Of the 14 quarterly results since ChatGPT’s release [in November 2022], Nvidia has raised guidance eleven times, reiterated guidance twice, and lowered guidance just once. Ironically, the one time the company lowered guidance was in May of last year, which was also the last time the stock had a positive return on its earnings reaction day.”Fetching latest articles
