“The Athletic Football Show” is previewing all 32 teams leading up to the start of the 2026 NFL season. Below are select quotes from the show’s preview of the Las Vegas Raiders. The quotes have been edited for length and clarity. You can watch the whole preview on YouTube and in the embedded video below, or listen to the full AFC West preview wherever you get your podcasts.Derrik Klassen on what about the Raiders most excites him: Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty with an NFL play caller. I know I did this last year where I was excited to watch Jeanty and Bowers, but this is different. Bowers being healthy, Jeanty having a chance behind what should be an NFL adult offensive line and play-calling situation. I’m just excited about what those two can look like because I think, talent-wise, it’s not even just that they’re good. If you have an elite tight end and one of the, let’s say, top-10 running backs, it’s a unique identity as an offense. I’m just excited for what that could look like.Robert Mays on what’s keeping him up at night: The quality of this team’s fronts on both sides of the ball. We talked about them being able to paper over the offensive line part of this a little bit, which I think is totally fair. But if you just try to isolate the individual talents, Spencer Burford is probably going to be a starting guard on this team. He got beat out in San Francisco before getting back into the mix on a team that wasn’t exactly flush with great offensive line talent. If Caleb Rogers wins that right guard job, he played 285 snaps last year. DJ Glaze has struggled. And so even if we think it can be a rising-tide-lifts-all-boats situation because of the way they play, I still don’t think the talent there is very good.
