The Taliban has wished 'all women' a 'Happy International Women's Day' in a tweet.
The oppressive regime is known for its violent treatment and systemic exclusion of women, in past banning them from employment and largely shutting them out from public life without a man present
Since taking power last August, the Taliban has banned women from travelling distances longer than 45 miles unless accompanied by a male family member, asked television channels to stop showing dramas and soap operas featuring women actors, and cracked down on any protests by opposition groups.
