Swedish data center firm EcoDataCenter has acquired land in central Sweden for a new campus.
The company this week announced it has signed an agreement with Smedjebacken Municipality for the purchase of 52 hectares of land to build its third data center campus in the Dalarna region.

The planned campus could total 150MW with potential opportunity to expand further. Construction is expected to begin as soon as building and environmental permits are finalized, which is anticipated in early 2027.
Smedjebacken is a town and municipality in Dalarna County in central Sweden, some 200km west of Stockholm. The agreement follows a letter of intent between the two parties that has been in place since 2019.
