TAMPA, Fla. — Simera Sense has supplied 10 hyperspectral imagers to U.S. satellite services provider Loft Orbital over the past year, the Belgian manufacturer disclosed Aug. 26 amid a push to expand imaging capabilities for smaller spacecraft.
The company’s HyperScape100 imager provides 4.75-meter ground resolution from 500 kilometers, using 32 spectral bands for applications ranging from environmental monitoring to maritime surveillance.
Loft integrates the imagers on standardized satellite buses it orders in batches, mainly from Airbus, to host customer payloads and operate the spacecraft on their behalf.
Esper and Wyvern are among Loft’s hyperspectral customers, with the latter previously using multiple HyperScape100 imagers supplied by Simera Sense, although the Belgian company did not identify users of the latest batch.
