Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, have intercepted and arrested two suspected cattle rustlers at a mining checkpoint along the Tudun Wada–Kiru Road, Rahama Round, in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement, a copy of which was made available to The PUNCH on Wednesday.
“The suspects, Jamilu Sa’adu, 45, and Nura Abdullahi, 37, were apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday at about 0300hrs while conveying a suspected rustled cow in a Sharon Galaxy vehicle with registration number JJN 606 AE,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the operatives, while carrying out their statutory duty at the checkpoint, intercepted the vehicle and discovered that the cow had been tied down and concealed in the rear section of the vehicle.
