South Korean machine tool manufacturer DN Solutions opened its first manufacturing facility in India in Bengaluru on Wednesday (August 26, 2026) at an investment of ₹600 crore. The facility was inaugurated by Karnataka’s Industries Minister M.B. Patil.Located in Bengaluru’s ITIR Industrial Area, the 25-acre facility has been developed with the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). The plant, a strategic manufacturing, research and development, and service hub, is DN Solutions’ first overseas manufacturing investment since it established its Yantai facility in China in 2003, according to company officials.The company said the entire Phase 1 investment of ₹600 crore has been deployed already. It is also considering investments of a similar scale in future phases, depending on market demand and business growth.The new facility would bring together manufacturing, R&D, a technical centre, after-sales service, training, and supply-chain development. Production would initially focus on the SVM series of vertical machining centres and LYNX and LEO horizontal turning centres, while the company plans to consider five-axis machine production in later phases.“This is not a relocation of manufacturing from Korea or China. It is a completely new investment designed to create production capacity in India,” senior officials of DN Solutions told media persons.In India for over 30 yearsDN Solutions has been present in India for more than three decades, beginning sales operations in 1994. It established its Bengaluru Technical Centre in 2008 and its Indian subsidiary in 2016. The company said India’s expanding manufacturing base, engineering talent, young workforce, English-speaking population, and government initiatives such as Make in India make the country a key market for its long-term growth.Karnataka, and Bengaluru in particular, was selected for its combination of precision manufacturing capabilities, engineering talent, automation expertise, and supply-chain infrastructure, it said.
