Another day, another history-making moment for 12-year-old Kinley Rasmus at the Little League World Series.One day after tying Mo’ne Davis’ record for most strikeouts in a tournament (14) by a female pitcher, Rasmus set the record for the most hits in a single tournament (five) by a female player. Her efforts on offense helped Phenix City, Ala., escape elimination in a 4-2 win over Tacoma, Wash., and live to fight another day in the U.S. bracket of this year’s tournament.In turn, it’s opened the door for a potential third appearance for the daughter of former big leaguer Cory Rasmus, one that could have a championship and history on the line.

Because Rasmus appeared in Monday’s game, one in which she came on in relief to fire 4 2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts (54 total pitches), Rasmus must have a mandated three days of rest.Little League guidelines provide the following stipulations for pitchers 14 years old and under:
66+ pitches: 4 days rest
51-65 pitches: 3 days rest
