Nearly two dozen carnivalgoers were rescued after a 90 minute ordeal in central Hamburg late on Tuesday, having been stuck 25 meters (82 feet) in the air on a swing carousel ride.
The Hamburger Dom carnival is held in the St.Pauli area of the city three times a year, and is one of Germany's longest-running and most well-visited fun fairs, attracting some 10 million guests annually.

Firefighters arrived at the scene, erecting ladders to bring down each guest individually.
