The family of one of the two women killed alongside two police officers in the Reiger Park shooting has urged the court not to rush the proceedings and to keep the accused behind bars if they are denied bail.

The grieving family of one of the two women killed alongside two police officers in the Reiger Park shooting has urged the court to take its time in dealing with the case and ensure the accused do not return to the streets if their bail applications are rejected.

They fear that rushing the proceedings could see the accused return to the area and that similar violence could happen again.

“We are really tired as a community, as families, we are really, really tired of this,” said Debbie Boards, speaking to the media outside the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Boards is the aunt of Jayden Margerman, one of the four victims.
