Kremlin explains purpose of CIA Director’s visit to Russia

CIA Director John Ratcliffe arrived in Russia on Tuesday, August 25, for “contacts between security services.”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said this in a comment to The Washington Post, Ukrinform reports.

Asked about the purpose of Ratcliffe’s visit to Russia, Peskov said that it was for “contacts between security services” and declined to provide any further details.

Earlier on Tuesday, Peskov said that the Kremlin had no information about the U.S. military aircraft that had arrived at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport.

According to him, the Russian side was not planning to meet with representatives of the U.S. administration this week.
