Firefox 157 will enable JPEG XL for all users, bringing stable support for the modern image format after years of Safari exclusivity.

Mozilla developer Timothy Nikkel has confirmed that Firefox is planning to make JPEG XL available to all users when Firefox 157 ships late next month.

At the moment, the only way to get JPEG XL support is by switching to the Nightly release channel and toggling "image.jxl.enabled" in about:config (or through Firefox Labs).
