US Senator Chris Van Hollen has accused Donald Trump of profiting from the war on Iran, describing it as "pure corruption".
"Trump’s turned the White House into a pay-to-play casino. While prices are going up for Americans, things couldn’t be going better for his stock portfolio," he said in a post on X.
"Trump continues to profit off Americans’ pain – including the senseless war he started in Iran. Pure corruption."
Van Hollen also told MSNBC that the US president "pocketed over a billion dollars" since returning to office.
"Clearly, you’ve got a president who’s profiting from the illegal war that he started, along with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu," the Democratic senator told MSNBC.
