An Auckland man who fatally strangled his partner during an argument in her Avondale home has been sentenced to four years and two months in prison.Hao Feng pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 40-year-old Xiaoyan Wang in January last year and was remanded in custody.Justice Natalie Walker handed down the sentence at the High Court in Auckland, saying Wang's death had a wide ripple effect.In a victim impact statement read in court on behalf of Wang's mother, she said her only child was a kind, gentle and caring person who was the most important person in her life, whose loss she is still struggling to come to terms with.Wang was a paediatric nurse at Starship Hospital and the court heard she was a valued and beloved team member.In a statement read by his lawyer, Feng said he is deeply sorry for his actions and the pain he has caused.
