Netflix has confirmed production on “The Shooter” (working title), an action-noir series that pairs Lee Jung-eun with Kim Moo-yul, marking Lee’s first outing in an action role.

Lee’s turn comes on the heels of “My Daughter Is a Zombie,” one of South Korea’s top-grossing films of 2025. Kim joins her fresh off “Teach You a Lesson,” a global hit, and the pair reunite four years after starring together in “Juvenile Justice.”

Lee Kwon, who directed “A Shop for Killers,” leads the production, working from a script by Kim Hee-su. Studio Dragon produces the series for Netflix.

“The Shooter” follows Jeong Suk-ja, a woman in her seventies whose quiet routine is shattered when her grandson is attacked, forcing her to pick up a firearm for the first time since she was young. Pursuing answers pulls her into the hidden workings of the powerful Chunghwa Group, and into a partnership she never expected, one that upends everything she believed to be true.

Kim plays Seo Yeon-woo, the strategist behind Jeong’s push for revenge, bringing a sharp eye for judgment and motives all his own.
