Dolly Parton revealed she wanted to be remembered as a "normal person" as her final wish. The country icon has died, aged 80, following months of health setbacks.
But speaking earlier this year, the musician, who was one of the most celebrated in history, revealed how, despite being a larger-than-life character from Pittman Center, Tennessee, she had simply "got lucky".
Lucky is perhaps an understatement: having written over 3,000 songs and sold over 100 million records worldwide, Dolly was one of a kind. When asked about what she wanted her legacy to be, Dolly said in January: "I hope my legacy to be my music. I hope it will last long after I'm gone.
"But most of all, I just would like to be remembered as a good person, someone who cared and who worked hard to help people. I would just like to be remembered as a normal person who got lucky and got to do what I love most for a living. I hope that I leave something behind for people to enjoy and draw from."
