Saudi Arabia on Tuesday lauded the US decision to remove Syria from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the announcement by the United States of America confirming the decision to remove the Syrian Arab Republic from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism,” a statement read.

It further congratulated Syria on this new step, wishing it “further security, stability, and prosperity, and continued progress in its reconstruction and development efforts,” in a way that would benefit the “aspirations of its people.”
Moreover, the statement reiterated Riyadh’s continued support for the steps taken by Damascus’s leadership to improve the situation for Syria and its people.
