U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday, August 25, that the US Navy had informed him that all naval mines in the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz had been successfully cleared or detonated. He further warned that any vessel or boat attempting to lay new mines in these waters would be targeted “immediately and systematically.”
Writing on Truth Social, Trump noted that Iran had been formally notified of the stance, adding: “Iran has been informed that any ship or boat planting new mines will be destroyed immediately and systematically.”
The U.S. President also stated that the US Space Force is using satellite capabilities to monitor all sections of the Strait of Hormuz, Mount Kolang Gazla, and three previously destroyed nuclear sites.
Trump emphasized that the United States is enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy regarding minelaying in the Strait of Hormuz and will target any attempt to re-mine the waterway.
He concluded: “We are monitoring every inch of the Strait of Hormuz.”
