Nikita Bier, who ran product at X for 13 months until Aug. 5 and now advises the company, said trade buttons are coming to the crypto charts embedded in X posts. He gave no timeline.

The claim has no corporate backing. X's public record on crypto products — the Cashtags launch, its roadmap, its scope and its only volume figure — sits entirely on Bier's personal account. There is no post from @X or @XMoney about Cashtags, no help-center page for it, and nothing about crypto or trading on X Money's product site.

Bier made the remark at 03:15 UTC on Tuesday, replying to a user who joked that a bull market could start because Bier was "no longer shadow banning CT." His reply: "I literally built Cashtags, allowing people to add Solana and Ethereum charts directly into posts—with trade buttons coming soon. You can even paste contract addresses for newly minted tokens. There wasn't a single feature on X for crypto traders until I joined." The post has drawn more than 225,000 views.

Bier has said something close to this before and then narrowed it. On Feb. 14, while still head of product, he wrote that X was "launching a number of features in a couple weeks, including Smart Cashtags that will enable you to trade stocks and crypto directly from timeline." Nine hours later he corrected himself: "This is wrong. X is not handling trade execution or acting as a brokerage. Just building the financial data tools and links."
