CIA Director John Ratcliffe has flown to Moscow aboard a U.S. military aircraft for meetings.

According to Ukrinform, CBS News reported this, citing its own sources.

News of his trip emerged after a U.S. Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft was spotted at a Moscow airport on Tuesday, accompanied by a U.S. diplomatic motorcade.

Neither the U.S. government nor Russia has commented on the identity of the American official who arrived in Russia or disclosed the purpose of the visit.

The trip appears to be Ratcliffe’s first known visit to Russia as CIA Director, although he has maintained contacts with his Russian intelligence counterparts.
