Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Authorities in Virginia were called out to wrangle an escaped bison seen wandering gravel roads and "creating his own version of a farm tour."
Loudoun County Animal Services said its Humane Law Enforcement team was dispatched Monday after a call came in reporting "that a bison was loose and creating his own version of a farm tour through the neighborhood."
The team worked together with deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office to escort the bison to a nearby field.
Animal services was able to use its Operation: Protect Livestock database to identify and contact the animal's owner.
"Thank you to all the community members who called -- we are happy to share that this bison is safe and out of the road," officials wrote.
