The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has said the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress administration has enough achievements to present to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio said the administration inherited a difficult economic situation, claiming that 27 states were unable to pay workers’ salaries and pensions when Tinubu assumed office in 2023.
He stated this on Monday when members of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions, TETFund and NELFund, led by its Chairman, Senator Dandutse Mohammed, paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Akpabio’s Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.
