Grayscale’s Zcash ETF has begun trading on NYSE Arca under ticker ZCSH, expanding investor access to ZEC. The listing moves a nine-year-old fund off over-the-counter quotes, where its shares have traded at discounts as steep as 55%.

Zcash exposure reached a national stock exchange on Aug. 25 when Grayscale Investments announced that ZCSH had begun trading on NYSE Arca. The crypto asset manager described the fund as the world’s first exchange-traded product offering spot ZEC exposure through a structure that removes the operational requirements associated with purchasing, storing, and safeguarding the cryptocurrency directly.

The announcement states:

“ZCSH is the first ETP in the world to offer spot exposure to the zcash token (ZEC), a market leading digital asset built for private, decentralized value transfer.”

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration confirms that Grayscale changed the vehicle’s name from Grayscale Zcash Trust (ZEC) to The Zcash ETF on Aug. 24. The filing registered ZCSH shares under Section 12(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and identified NYSE Arca as the exchange on which the securities would trade.
