The Kondensat Oil Refinery in Kazakhstan’s West Kazakhstan region will process Russian crude oil and supply up to 70% of its gasoline and diesel fuel output to Russia.
Radio Azattyq reported this, citing Kazakh Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov as saying at a briefing on August 25, according to Ukrinform
An agreement has already been reached with the Russian side, and, Akkenzhenov said, he sees no obstacles to supplying the crude oil because the refinery’s owner is not under sanctions.
The remaining 30% of the petroleum products is expected to remain on the Kazakh domestic market.
Supplies of Russian crude to the refinery could begin soon, the minister said.
