The new Mac Mini starts at $899, up $100 from the prior model, with availability beginning September 22

Apple $AAPL announced on Tuesday a new Mac Mini featuring its first M6-generation chip, alongside an updated Mac Studio, with both lines carrying upgrades aimed at AI workloads including local model inference and agentic computing.
Apple's updated Mac Mini is available with your choice of the M6 or the M5 Pro chip. Apple says the M6 delivers up to 4x faster AI performance and 2x faster graphics than the M4-equipped model it replaces. The M6 features a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU and supports up to 32GB of unified memory. The M5 Pro configuration supports up to 64GB of unified memory and, according to Apple, can process large language model prompts in LM Studio up to 8.5 times faster than the M2 Pro version of the Mac Mini.
