The 3-park complex near Cergy-Pontoise will be led by Qiddiya, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, and is expected to create 22,000 jobs

France and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding Monday for a €6 billion ($7 billion) investment to build three theme parks near Paris, including one based on the Japanese anime franchise Dragon Ball Z, the French presidency said.

According to France 24, the site chosen for the parks is the Cergy-Pontoise area, located about 30 kilometers outside Paris to the northwest. The project will be led by Qiddiya, an investment firm that is a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund. Construction will proceed in stages, with no opening date announced.

The deal was finalized during a two-day state visit to France by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. French President Emmanuel Macron said in a post on X $TWTR that the investment would create over 20,000 jobs and establish a "new global destination." The French presidency cited a figure of 22,000 jobs, noting that this would surpass Disneyland Paris's workforce of around 20,000.
