The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, that the incident occurred 9 nautical miles (approximately 17 kilometers) northeast of the Shisah region in Oman.
According to the report, the projectile hit the tanker's engine room, causing it to lose propulsion. However, all crew members are reported safe.
