SALT LAKE CITY – Odin Space, a British startup focused on addressing lethal, non-trackable space debris, has extended its agreement to fly its Black Box on Arkisys Cutter spacecraft.
Under the pact announced Aug. 25, four additional Odin Black Boxes will launch on Arkisys Cutter small spacecraft. Under the agreement, evidence-based collision insurance, underwritten through Lloyd’s of London, will become a standard offering for Cutter hosted payloads.
“More satellites adopting this technology is great for us because it adds to the dataset that we’re collecting,” Odin Space CEO and co-founder James New told SpaceNews. “When we get a more rich dataset that can be value-added to the whole industry.”
