LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Above and Below, on digital video-on-demand Tuesday, gave Laura Marano a chance to get physical. The star of Disney's sitcom Austin and Ally and several Netflix rom-coms, said she was apprehensive about her action debut.
Marano plays Tatiana, a woman vacationing with friends. A shark diving excursion turns deadly when drug dealers leave her underwater and threaten her friends onboard.
In a recent Zoom interview with UPI, Marano, 30, said she embraced the opportunity to try something new. However, that came with many new challenges.
"I've never done something this physically challenging," Marano said. "It was nerve-wracking. It was so outside my comfort zone which was how I knew that I was supposed to do it."
