New Mexico is investing $3 million in the University of New Mexico’s Quantum New Mexico Institute to expand quantum research, workforce development and commercialization efforts statewide.

The funding will support faculty and student recruitment, quantum education and outreach, and programs designed to move university research into startups and industry applications.

The investment is part of New Mexico’s broader plan to commit more than $450 million to quantum research, infrastructure, workforce development and commercialization.
