French journalist, TV presenter, radio host and cultural titan Philippe Bouvard has died aged 96.
Known as the creator of RTL’s daily comedy radio programme Les Grosses Têtes, which he hosted from 1977 to 2014, Bouvard was a great discoverer of comic talent and one of France’s foremost columnists.
He hosted the television program Le Petit Théâtre de Bouvard from 1982 to 1986 and helmed the radio programme Allô Bouvard from 2014 until his retirement in 2025 at age 95, after a career of more than 60 years in radio.
