A 28-year-old man was allegedly killed by his cousin in Dadri, Greater Noida, on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, police said. (Representational image)The victim was identified as Shahid, from Araria, Bihar, who resided in Fatehpur Rampur village in Greater Noida.Police said they received information early Monday morning from Shahid’s brother that he had been found dead inside his room and that his cousin Imran, in his late 20s, who had come to Greater Noida for work, was missing.Shahid had a deep wound on his neck, and a blood-soaked axe used by the workers was found nearby.“It was suspected that on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, when Shahid’s two brothers were sleeping outside the house, Imran killed him with the axe following some dispute,” said Vinod Kumar Chahar, station house officer, Dadri.The SHO said, “Investigation revealed that Shahid, along with his brothers, had come to work in Greater Noida as a daily wager around one-and-a-half months ago. Later, around 20 days ago, Shahid even called Imran to come and work in Greater Noida, citing opportunities.”Police said the motive for the murder was yet to be ascertained and that three teams had been formed to nab the suspect. A case under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS was registered at Dadri police station, and further investigation is underway, police added.
