Learn & Play took to social media to make a post that read as, “When Stephen and Ayesha started the foundation in 2019, Stephen’s focus was clear: every kid deserves a safe place to play. Confidence, leadership, belonging — it all starts with play, which is why it’s one of our three key pillars.”The post added, “Seven years in, we’ve transformed 24 Oakland schoolyards alongside @OUSDnews and @KABOOM, turning underused asphalt into sport courts, play structures, teaching gardens, murals, and shaded green space, all designed by the students who use them every day.”The post continued, “Middle school sports participation is up 300% since we started investing in coaches, referees, transportation, and gear with Oakland Athletic League.
