A civil advocacy group, United Advocates Group, has urged the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, to replace the team investigating the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, with fresh officers who were not involved in the previous investigation.
The group said the move was necessary to ensure an independent, transparent and credible conclusion to the re-investigation into the singer’s death.
The UAG made the demand in a statement signed by its legal adviser, Oluwatosin Afolabi.
It also noted that the fresh investigation initiated in April 2025, following the intervention of the former Inspector-General of Police, had remained unresolved after being transferred to the Lagos State Police Command.
