An irate mob has allegedly beaten two suspected thieves to death after they were reportedly caught attempting to dispossess a commercial motorcyclist of his motorcycle in the Nasko area of Niger State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, according to a statement on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, which detailed the operational successes recorded by the Nigeria Police Force across several states.
Iniedu said police operatives responded to the mob action following the deaths of the two suspects.
“The remains of the deceased were recovered and deposited at the General Hospital, Nasko, while investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those involved,” he added.
The FPRO stated that the case was being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Minna.
