PARIS: Saudi Arabia and France reaffirmed their commitment to deepening their partnership on the development of AlUla during a ministerial committee meeting in Paris on Monday.
The Saudi-French Joint Ministerial Committee on AlUla was co-chaired by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Saudi minister of culture and governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot.
The meeting was also attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Investment Minister Fahad Al-Saif and Abeer Al-Aql, CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla. French participants included Culture Minister Catherine Bigeard, Economy Minister Roland Lescure and Jean-Yves Le Drian, president of the French Agency for the Development of AlUla.
The two sides welcomed the signing of an agreement extending and amending the existing Saudi-French agreement on the cultural, environmental, tourism, economic, human and heritage development of AlUla.
They reviewed achievements under the partnership and discussed future areas of cooperation, highlighting AlUla’s role as a crossroads of civilizations and an emerging global destination for culture, creativity and sustainable development.
