Peter Parker is about to be crowned the new “king of the world.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is on the verge of knocking Titanic out of the all-time global box-office top five.

Over the weekend, Brand New Day racked up another $39 million domestically (and $109 million globally) bringing its totals to $854.9 million domestic ($2.22 billion globally).

That puts Brand New Day just $44 million shy of overtaking James Cameron’s Oscar-winning 1997 hit, something Brand New Day should easily manage in a week or so.

Cameron’s own 2009 smash Avatar still sits atop the all-time Top 5 with an incredible $2.9 billion lifetime gross, including rereleases.
