The union said the decision followed deliberations by the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU on the terms of the agreement signed on August 20, 2026.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ASUU-ESUT) Branch, has suspended its two-week warning strike following the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Enugu State Government and the university management.

The union said the decision followed deliberations by the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU on the terms of the agreement signed on August 20, 2026.

The acting Chairman of ASUU-ESUT, Dr Andrew Apeh, disclosed this while addressing journalists at a press conference in Enugu on Monday.

Apeh said the suspension of the industrial action was approved by the union's national leadership in response to commitments secured under the MoU and an appeal by the university's Visitor, Governor Peter Mbah.
