Starting in September, the 2026 series of The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) will see Nigella Lawson replacing Prue Leith as a judge. Joining Paul Hollywood in sampling the creations offered up by this year’s batch of star-bakers-in-waiting, Lawson brings decades of culinary expertise to the Bake Off tent. Since 1998, Lawson has penned a dozen cookbooks – several of which have been accompanied by popular TV cookery programmes, such as Nigellissima. The self-described home cook has also been a judge on MasterChef Australia and on Channel 4’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cookery competition The Taste. From chocolate Guinness cake to chilli jam, hearty platefuls of pasta and more, Nigella Lawson’s recipes lean towards comfort, simplicity and indulgence. “Life is complicated; cooking doesn't have to be,” she writes in the introduction to her cookbook At My Table. Whether you want to whip up tasty weekday meals for the family or decadent desserts to impress your dinner-party guests, Lawson’s cookbooks have you covered. While we wait for the upcoming series of GBBO to kick off next month, here are the Nigella Lawson cookbooks to dig into for a foodie fix.
