Anti-aging skin care ingredients differ enormously in how much scientific evidence actually backs their claims. Choosing the wrong active ingredient for a given skin type can mean irritation, wasted money or results that never materialize.
Consumer Reports partnered with SkinSafe and Mayo Clinic to screen 11 anti-aging products across five ingredient categories for common allergens, helping shoppers match a formula to their skin before they buy.
